Role Scope
The Clinical Team Leader provides leadership and supervision to teams of Forensic Disability - Clinician and or Clinician (Program Specialists) delivering evidence-basedservices in FDS.
The role also provides clinical advice on treatment/rehabilitation programs and life skills development activities with regard to people with an intellectual or cognitive disability who engage in offending behaviours.
The Clinical Team Leader may exercise specific powers or functions as conferred by a declaration, appointment, or delegation under the Forensic Disability Act 2011. Clinical Team Leaders are required to maintain an appropriate level of general health and fitness in order to undertake their duties. They must be capable of performing all physical requirements of the position including actively engaging clients in sports and recreation activities and if required provide physical assistance and employing physical intervention.
Clinical Team Leaders will work in collaboration together with the Operational Team Leaders (Operational Services) to ensure that clients at FDS are progressing forward with their treatment, and meeting mile tone to support their future transition and reintegration into the community.
It is vital that Clinical Team Leaders have the ability to be emotionally resilient and demonstrate perseverance in achieving objectives and copes effectively with setbacks, challenges and incidents.
Key responsibilities of this role
- Supervise teams of Forensic Disability Worker - Clinicians to ensure the provision of high-quality client services within the FDS, in accordance with legislation, policies and standards.
- As a Clinical Team Leader, you will supervise and lead a team of Clinicians to ensure that they deliver high quality support and services to clients in the FDS and that they consistently demonstrate professional and ethical conduct. You will ensure that staff practices are consistent with all relevant legislative requirementsand standards, including the Forensic Disability Act and the Human Rights Act 2019
- M onitor staff training needs, including ensuring the staff you manage remain

current in essential practices training. Identify, organise and facilitate training that
you and the other Clinical Team Leader identify that would support improvements to
the delivery of services at FDS.
- Can articulate performance standards when providing assessment of FDW

Clinicians by providing constructive and timely feedback about the work practices for
their development.
- Conduct Individual Time and Performance and Development Agreement (PDA)

meetings with staff, participate in recruitment and selection processes, monitor
performance and absenteeism as well as lead any performance improvement
processes with individuals.

- Manage and direct the development, implementation and review of clients

Individual Development Plans (IDPs) including the necessary interventions,
programs, casework services and community networking within the FDS in a
culturally appropriate manner.
- Lead the ongoing monitoring, evaluation and reporting of client progress against

their goals.
- Provide leadership to FDW Clinicians regarding the writing, implementation and

review of clinical support plans, including Positive Behaviour Support Plans.
- Undertake clinical assessments or facilitate the undertaking of assessment by

appropriate person/s both internal and external to the FDS.
- Research and maintain knowledge of current and emerging trends and practices

concerning forensic disability and the deliver
