Duties and responsibilities
- Contributing to a positive and safe work environment by modelling conduct that is culturally capable, inclusive, respectful and ethical.
- Delivering high quality mentoring, coaching and advice on project management, governance and compliance, risk avoidance/mitigation and corporate accountability throughout the organisation and in relation to projects/programs, while meeting State Library's service commitments
- Advising project teams on the ongoing development of processes, procedures and tools for project management. This includes project assurance and reporting to ensure project milestones and performance indicators are met while delivering on key service deliverables and organisational priorities
- Leading and overseeing the implementation of the State Library's Risk Management Strategy and review processes to determine organisational risk levels and risk mitigation for corporate level risks. This includes providing strategic advice and operational direction to the Executive Management Team, Library Board and key stakeholders
- Planning and coordinating business continuity and crisis management processes by ensuring policies, procedures and guidelines meet international best practice and State Library requirements. This includes conducting a biennial Business Impact Analysis which will feed into annual reviews of the Business Continuity Plan, Crisis Management plan, and Disaster Recovery Plan
- Provide direction and expert guidance on robust procurement principles and processes, contract management and administration
- Representing State Library on both internal and external user groups, committees, programs and working groups. This includes collaborating with communities of practice, industry bodies, government organisations and targeted specialist services
- Undertaking business improvement activities including the development, management and maintenance of relevant policies and procedures ensuring they meet best practice and State Library requirements
- Working effectively with colleagues and peers while contributing to a productive and positive work environment in times of change and uncertainty. This includes being a proactive member of the Corporate Governance & Operations Portfolio leadership team and an active participant in program planning and initiatives
- Participating in, contributing to and/or managing financial, human resource and/or ICT

- There are no mandatory requirements for this role, however qualifications in project management and Prince2, or a related field would be highly regarded.
