**The opportunity**

Our client is a community focused federal government agency. They have an exciting opportunity available for multiple APS 5 & 6 Fraud Intelligence Analyst's to help investigate a range of internal & external payment fraud against the Agency.

18-month initial contract with opportunity for extension. APS6 level role with an expected rate of $58.50 per hour + Superannuation, whilst the APS5 is $53.63 per hour + Super with the option to be based out of Melbourne, Geelong, Sydney, Adelaide or Brisbane including 2 days working from home each week, with the remaining 3 on site.

**The role**

The Fraud Intelligence Analyst is accountable under limited Direction to undertake moderately complex to complex work. Legislation, policies, procedures, standards, methodologies and precedents guide the position.

The APS6 level is a team leader position and is expected to provide detailed technical, professional, policy, operational support and advice in relation to complex problems. The APS5 is a team membership position and is accountable for organising their workflow and making independent decisions relating to an area of responsibility.

**Your responsibilities will include**:
At the APS5 level:

- Supporting the planning and production of financial intelligence outputs and outcomes
- Working closely with management, operational teams and external partner agencies to ensure that intelligence outputs are supporting the strategic and operational needs of the Agency
- Contributing to the development of business rules, refinements and recommended avenues of analysis and investigation
- Identifying emerging intelligence risks and evolving methodologies in relation to the Agency's participants, partners and providers
- Conducting formal and informal discussions with staff, customers and third parties to obtain required information
- Providing ongoing intelligence support for matters referred for investigation
- Providing administrative support to the team and intelligence support to complex projects

At the APS6 level:

- Contributing to the development, planning and production of financial intelligence outputs and outcomes
- Conducting fraud assessments and producing financial intelligence reports for complex matters from the collection, evaluation and analysis of information
- Leading tactical intelligence projects through the development of collection plans, assigning tasks, analysing financial and other information, and articulating findings
- Complying with all relevant legislation, policy and guidelines for the management of information and the use of ICT systems and tools
- Contributing to the development of business rules, refinements and suggested avenues of analysis and investigation
- Producing financial intelligence products within set timeframes in compliance with legislative, policy and information security frameworks
- Maintaining accurate files and records in relation to business decisions and intelligence activities and functions, contributing to reporting requirements
- Providing ongoing intelligence support for matters referred for investigation

**About you**
- Intermediate understanding of Microsoft Office, with a strong understanding of Excel which will be tested upon commencement
- Experience within either Fraud Intelligence, law enforcement, financial data, or studies towards these areas
- Experience with SQL
- Salesforce experience advantageous
- Scheduling and Time Management skills
- Critical Thinking and Problem-Solving skills with the ability to be prioritise your workflow & act independently
- APS6 position requires Team Leadership experience
- ** Ability to obtain NV1 clearance, requiring 10 years of Australian Citizenship**
