**The opportunity
As a worldwide healthcare company, with millions of customers, Bupa operates in an environment where internal and external events can cause significant operational disruption. Operational disruption can adversely impact one or several of the following components, which underpin Bupa’s ability to deliver business services: processes; people; property; technology; data; clinical equipment and/or third parties.

The Head of Operational Resilience APAC plays a key role in:

- Developing a clear vision, strategy and work program to build the operational resilience capability of Bupa and the processes to prepare and respond to disruption and provide thought and operational leadership on resilience
- Setting, formalising, communicating, monitoring/reporting and delivering on the MU Operational Resilience Policy and associated frameworks.

A key requirement is the ability to build a strong and trusting rapport with Business and Functional Unit leaders and employees, facilitating two-way interaction in relation to business continuity matters and supporting the development of Operational Resilience team members.

They will work closely with other 2nd line risk colleagues to ensure risks are identified and appropriately managed by the business.

This is a 15 months fixed term full-time position, based in Melbourne/Sydney office. (Bupa offers hybrid working arrangements and you can work from the office or from home)

**How will I help?**

**You will add value by**:

- Implementation of the Operational Resilience Policy, the Crisis Management Standard and the Business Resilience Standard.
- Development and implementation of a monitoring plan to ensure the implementation of minimum requirements relevant to Operational Resilience that are captured within OR Policy and other Policies and Standards as well as escalating any gaps relevant to operational resilience
- Ensuring each BU establishes a training and awareness programme to ensure that people understand their responsibilities in operational resilience.
- Reviewing management of Operational Resilience to ensure it is adequately managed in line with the business' risk appetite and in accordance with regulatory requirements (such as APRA and HK Insurance Authority standards).
- Embedding of a pro-active Operational Resilience culture across the MU and its businesses.
- Oversight of OR risks, including ensuring Business Units have quality risk data in GRC systems.
- Supporting Risk Director to provide required reporting to the Corporate Centre, Market Unit, Board and Committee reporting
- Support the business to develop and maintain Business Impact Analysis (BIA). With the business facilitate the BIA process for Bupa APAC including identification of critical systems, testing and rehearsal schedules and results reporting, gap analysis and risk assessment.
- Ensuring businesses and functions in APAC have adequate and effective BC strategies / plans in place.

**What do I need?**
- Relevant tertiary qualifications or demonstrated equivalent competency
- Preferably qualified and member of the BCI or other, e.g.CBCI / MBCI.
- 10+ years’ experience in developing and supporting Business Continuity (including Crisis Management and IT Disaster Recovery) frameworks within large (regulated) international businesses (financial services / insurance)
- An ability to distil complex concepts into actionable advice.
- Appropriate knowledge and experience to confidently interact with relevant business leaders.
- Experience in presenting to senior management teams to explain and educate in relation to all aspects of a BCM Framework
- High-order verbal and written communication skills. Ability to consult, influence, coordinate and work efficiently and effectively with business partners at all levels.
