The PMO Lead is responsible for developing and scaling the organization's PMO capability to foster a culture of project excellence. This role shapes the project management culture, establishes performance management standards, and ensures transparent tracking of portfolio health. Acting as an advisor to senior leadership, the PMO Lead oversees portfolio reporting, risk management, and governance, ensuring successful delivery of projects aligned with business objectives across both strategic and operational excellence initiatives.

The Operational Excellence & Continuous Improvement Program is responsible for driving operational efficiency and fostering a culture of continuous improvement within the organization. This program will drive Operational Excellence across all customer facing departments, achieving customer experience, efficiency, and risk reduction targets, and is key to enabling the Cover-More “Operations Vision”.
So, what’s the job?
- You’ll optimise the PMO framework (tools, templates, processes) to support business growth and strategy.
- You’ll drive PMO adoption across business functions and foster continuous improvement in project delivery and reporting.
- You’ll develop training programs to enhance PMO capabilities.
- You’ll align project goals with business objectives, track KPIs, and ensure compliance with policies.
- You’ll support Project Managers with tracking, project setup, and execution best practices.
- You’ll provide insights through project data analysis and support financial management.
- You’ll maintain resource management and consolidate portfolio financial reports.
- You’ll track and report project/portfolio performance to senior leaders using visual tools.
- You’ll identify, monitor, and manage risks, developing mitigation strategies with Project Managers.
- You’ll build strong relationships with stakeholders, facilitate communication, and ensure customer targets are met in reporting.

And what are we looking for?
- You’ll have demonstrated experience (5+ years) in a PMO Lead role, with Insurance or Financial Services Industry experience highly desirable.
- You’ll have prior experience working in an Agile environment.
- You’ll hold a professional certification in Project Management, such as PMP, CAPM, or PRINCE2.
- You’ll possess strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with proficiency in Project Management software tools.
- You’ll have excellent communication, organizational, and time management skills.
- You’ll be highly organized, with advanced verbal and written communication skills and a deep understanding of business documentation requirements.
- You’ll work collaboratively, with excellent stakeholder management experience.
- You’ll excel in planning, with a natural ability to see dependencies and drive others to deliver while maintaining strong relationships.
- You’ll have a Bachelor’s Degree in Project Management, Business Administration, Computer Science, or a related field.
