About the Role

This involves providing technical thought leadership and direction for PEGA assets, being the central point of contact for technical advice and technical capability leadership. The role will work in conjunction with Delivery Managers and scrum teams to manage the overall build and run of PEGA services and solutions, on time, within budget, meeting business requirements and in compliance with relevant development standards. Also you'll be responsible for driving and owning technical capability and asset roadmap management for PEGA Platform, by working to uplift team technical capability for the asset.

What you’ll be doing:
- Lead and define the vision, strategy and roadmap for the PEGA Platform Engineering capability- Provide best practice engineering though leadership to the engineering community, keeping abreast of new technologies and development techniques, tools and trends.- Along with peers in other technical domains, drive the re-use of architectural components across the technology stack.- Create and instill engineering standards, patterns, guardrails & practices within the PEGA development domain, ensuring adherence whilst fostering a culture of innovation and continuous improvement. Including security and risk items as well as DR/High availability, Development Quality and Security Standards. Provide / build the tools to be able to tangibly demonstrate this capability.- Drive standardisation and maximise reuse of components through technical contribution to, advocacy of, and continuous improvement of the platform working in collaboration with peer Engineering Leads and Delivery teams- Manage a team to provide cross-cutting technical uplift of PEGA platform per defined roadmap- Provide Technical Guidance and Leadership to Technology teams and Business Delivery Squads - on areas of development, incident and problem management, asset roadmap.- Work with DevOps and delivery teams to define, own and operate the Continuous Development / Continuous Integration pipeline for PEGA development. Support the Release Management function to ensure deployments occur seamlessly whilst many teams develop within the same code-base.- Structure and manage project budgets and finances (CAPEX and OPEX), in relation to PEGA and associated platforms, and ensure teams work according to predetermined schedules and timelines- Liaising with Marketing Technology Platforms such as Adobe Campaign and internal AGL assets.- Working with internal business teams and external third-party vendors, explore and develop new capabilities to support AGL’s growth in a digital environment. Work closely with the vendors (3rd parties) on roadmaps, contracts, utilisation and licensing strategies, and manage performance.- Lead the assets review and develop capacity plans for PEGA platform in collaboration with delivery and support teams.- Support cross-cutting issues and identification of production problems, finding the appropriate team to resolve. Provide root cause analysis and service restoration support.- Upskill Business Delivery Squads in PEGA Platform engineering across Planning/Architecture, Development, DevOps and Testing.- Formulate business cases / funding requests to enact on PEGA Engineering uplift.

About You

What you’ll bring to the table:
- Development experience across PEGA technologies and frameworks- Tertiary qualifications in Computer Science or similar discipline- Experience working in a mature CI/CD environment- A leadership style that embodies our values and attracts talent to AGL- Experience working in an agile development environment.- A demonstrated ability to define and deliver quality focused business outcomes- Stakeholder relationship experience, with an ability to pitch technology solutions to various leadership stakeholders.- A passion for new technologies and how these could be leveraged to enable strategic outcomes and solve complex business problems.- A strong understanding of core technical requirements and standards.- Exceptional influencing skills and ability to drive cultural change across the digital engineering community at AGL- An ability to engage with key business stakeholders to ensure the team focus on solving the right problem in the right way
