As an Innovation Lead, you are naturally curious about the future, constantly identifying new trends and opportunities. Sitting within the Emerging Technology Enterprise Innovation Team, you will lead a portfolio of innovation initiatives aligned to the tools that enable the portfolio management and delivery of Software Projects across CBA. You will be responsible for designing and delivering initiatives in the Portfolio Management and Software Delivery space.

CBA has one of the biggest portfolios of IT Projects in Australia and this is your chance to be part of the work to drive innovation and improvement in one of the most dynamic portfolios in the country.

Technology as seen as the key enabler to the Bank Strategy, and you will have the opportunity to define and lead your own portfolio of work supporting Software Delivery and Portfolio Management. This portfolio will help CBA as it seeks to increase both the Velocity and Quality of Engineering across the bank.

The Emerging Technology team sits within the Group Technology Division of the Commonwealth Bank and exists to accelerate the group’s adoption of new and emerging technologies. The team delivers on its mission by executing a portfolio of innovation initiatives, which are focused on either building, experimenting or investing in new or emerging technology capabilities.

To deliver their work the team engages and collaborates with an innovation ecosystem comprising of the Group’s technology partners, start-ups, academic institutions, venture capitalists and consulting houses. This enables the team to identify and understand the latest technology and customer trends and uncover opportunities to develop new digital products and experiences for customers.

This role reports to the Executive Manager, Emerging Technology.

**Your key responsibilities**
- Liaise with senior leaders and extended stakeholders to prioritise initiatives, maintain the portfolio backlog and share compelling insights and recommendations.
- Leverage the Emerging Technology Innovation Process (aligned to ISO 56002 Innovation Management Systems) to identify, design, develop, mobilise, execute and close out a portfolio of innovation initiatives.
- Lead in Project Management and delivery of innovation initiatives from end-to-end e.g. from sourcing and procurement with new vendors to managing teams across the Group in delivery.
- Work on understanding the challenges and opportunities leveraging the Planview and Atlassian suite of tools.
- Develop the Emerging Technology roadmap for Delivery Tooling for the bank.
- Structure effective communications which take complex concepts or initiatives and articulates them in a way that is simple and easy to understand by all stakeholders.
- Understand and make strategic recommendations for the Group based on the learnings and outcomes achieved from the innovation initiatives you deliver.
- Build and develop relationships with a range of external parties including: Technology partners, Consultants, Venture Capital firms, Academia and the Start-up community.
- Develop the Emerging Technology Practice and ways of working, to continually advance our craft and evolve the tools and techniques we use in our work.
- Role model the Emerging Technology Team Principles and Values.
- Mentor, coach and guide interns and graduates within the Emerging Technology team.

**We are interested to hear from people who have**
- Understanding of the Atlassian and Planview suite of tools
- Have awareness of SAFE and have ideally been involved in a large scale implementation
- Had some exposure to data mapping across systems and the impact on the process for teams
- Experience in framing and delivering experiments, proof-of-concepts or pilots.
- A strategic and creative mindset that thrives under pressure, operates well with ambiguity, and has the resilience to solve puzzles no one at the Bank has solved before.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and a demonstrated ability to work in a team environment.
