Job Description:
We are seeking a fun and passionate male mentor to join our team. As a mentor, you will be responsible for providing support and assistance to young men with disabilities on their journey towards to adulthood. Your role will involve working closely with people with disabilities, their families, and support teams to help develop and implement individual support plans in order to support in achievement of their goals which could be finding and keeping a job, developing employable skills, developing daily living skills to enable independence, supporting to enable community participation or/and assistance with school/studies
What you need:
- Australian Driver’s License
- Car with Fully Comprehensive Insurance
- First Aid Certificate
- CPR
- NDIS Worker Screening Check
- Working with Children's Check
**Responsibilities**:
- Supporting young men with disabilities in their pursuit to develop daily living skills such as cooking, washing clothes, personal care, fostering independence and self-sufficiency.
- Facilitating community participation for young men with disabilities.
- Implementing and documenting individualised support plans, ensuring the needs and goals are being worked towards
- Monitoring and reporting any changes in young men with disabilities physical or emotional wellbeing.
- Collaborate with other support workers, healthcare professionals, and external agencies to coordinate services and resources for participants, fostering a holistic and comprehensive support system.
- Assist participants in finding and keeping meaningful employment and developing employable skills.
- Ensure necessary documentation is completed when and if required.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Previous experience in a similar role, preferably in disability or a related field is desirable but not necessary.
- Certificate IV in disability or a relevant qualification is desirable but not necessary.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Empathy, patience, and a genuine desire to support young men with disabilities.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Knowledge of disability rights and a commitment to promoting inclusion and equality.
- Ability to learn quickly and effectively, staying current with best practices.
- Openness to feedback and a proactive approach to seeking, receiving, and giving constructive feedback.

**Job Type**: Casual
Pay: $30.61 - $40.26 per hour
Expected hours: 3 - 12 per week
