Employment Type: Casual hours per week
Rates: Weekdays up to 77 weekends
About the Role
As a Support Worker / Mentor, you'll work directly with participants to help them build capacity, develop life skills, and engage meaningfully in their communities. You'll support individuals in areas such as:
- Daily living skills and independence
- Emotional regulation and mental wellbeing
- Social and community participation
- Mentoring for personal and professional growth
- Assistance with appointments, transport, and routines
- Promoting positive relationships and confidence
This role requires reliability, compassion, and an ability to work independently while maintaining strong communication with the team and participants' families.
What We're Looking For
- Genuine passion for supporting people with disability and/or mental health challenges
- Ability to build trust and rapport with participants from diverse backgrounds
- Excellent communication, emotional intelligence, and problem-solving skills
- Professional presentation and self-management skills
- Flexibility to adapt to participant needs and changing schedules
Essential Requirements
- Current NDIS Worker Screening Check
- Current First Aid & CPR Certificate
- Driver's Licence and reliable vehicle
- Working with Children Check (if applicable)
- NDIS Orientation Module completion
- Proof of right to work in Australia
(Preferred but not essential: Mental Health First Aid, Certificate III/IV in Disability, Community Services, or Mental Health.)
