About the role
We are excited to be seeking a Recovery Mentor (Lived Experience) to join our Recovery Options team based in Joondalup. In this role, you will draw on your personal journey with mental health challenges, recovery, and service engagement to provide peer support to others.
Through intentionally sharing your experiences, you will walk alongside participants in the community, supporting them to create recovery plans, develop wellbeing strategies, and set personal goals. Using a trauma-informed, strength-based approach, you'll help participants build skills, engage with their communities, make informed choices, and develop meaningful relationships.
Additionally, you will support the broader team to understand and integrate the lived experience perspective into service delivery, fostering a culture that values empathy, inclusion, and recovery-oriented practice.
This is a 0.8 FTE Maximum Term role until 30 June 2026 (with the possibility of extension) delivering outreach services across the Perth North Metro area.
About you
To be successful you will have the following key attributes:
- Lived experience of mental health challenges with a demonstrated recovery journey.
- Ability to use personal experience safely and purposefully to support others' recovery.
- Knowledge of recovery-oriented approaches, peer support, and trauma-informed practice.
- Relevant tertiary qualifications or commensurate (i.e. 1 years+) experience and relevant professional development.
- Skills in relationship building and stakeholder engagement and management (internal and external).
You must be able to obtain / provide:
- Police Clearance
- Working with Children Check
- First Aid
- Valid Western Australia Driver's License
