Seeking a Waste Education Officer based in the north shore for a 3 month contract

Based in the north shore, this role will see you assisting in the development and implementation of community waste minimisation, management and resource recovery programs.

As a waste education officer, you will help to develop, manage and coordinate programs and projects to meet required waste management outcomes and educate the community and Council about waste minimisation and resource recovery. Your duties will include:

- Develop and deliver a range of education programs, activities and events to residents, staff, community and school groups that support the domestic waste service and Council’s waste strategies
- Provide expert advice to residents, Councillors and staff in regard to waste programs and services
- Evaluate waste management plans for events in accordance with Council’s policy
- Initiate new and foster existing collaborative relationships with relevant internal and external stakeholders and community groups

**What you'll need to succeed***
- A qualification or background in environmental education is preferable
- Demonstrated skills and experience in the development and implementation of innovative and effective education programs associated with waste minimisation or other environmental initiatives to a community
- Demonstrated project management and project coordination including a proven record of success in delivering quality outcomes within budget and time-frames
- Excellent written and oral communication skills, including ability to communicate with a range of stakeholders
