**Who we are**

The IT Services and Applications Branch comprises of the following functions: Business Engagement & ICT Investment, ICT Project Management Office, Communication, Organisational Design, Workforce & Capabilities, Shared Services Management, Vendor & Contract Management. Architecture and ICT Security, Systems Uplift, Information & Records Management and Web & Cloud Systems, as well as the Environment, Water, and Climate Change and Energy Products sections.

The Business Engagement section is the “front door” into the IT Services Division for new ICT investments. The section works closely with other divisions regarding their requests and is responsible for cross collaboration and engagement with all relevant DCCEEW IT teams, and partners, to assist with analysis and solution design. Following this early engagement, the section is also responsible for the DCCEEW IT Costing process, including budget submissions and Requests for Digital Investment (RDIs).

**The Job**
The role will be responsible for building effective relationships and improving collaboration within and across DCCEEW IT, other divisions and partners for new ICT work. Duties will include, but are not limited to:

- working with staff at all levels, including Senior Executive Service, ensuring early engagement of DCCEEW IT to improve understanding of business problems and work with the relevant DCCEEW IT teams and service providers/partners to identify the most appropriate ICT solutions,
- identifying opportunities for ICT to improve outcomes for other divisions, including through innovation,
- contributing to ICT investment planning and the department’s investment governance process/es, including effective transition into the delivery pipeline,
- contributing to the management and reporting of ICT demand,
- the completion of costings for ICT solutions for New Policy Proposals and Business Cases,
- working closely with the Director and broader team to identify and implement process improvement regarding the functions of the Business Engagement Section,
- the opportunity for acting at the director level when the director is on leave and includes representing the division at various meetings including taskforces and governance committees.

**What we are looking for**

**Knowledge and experience**
- Experience working with a broad range of customers and stakeholders, at all levels.
- Experience working in an ICT environment.
- ICT/technical knowledge would be desirable.
- Demonstrated experience in building and maintaining effective working relationships.
- Knowledge and understanding of the Digital Transformation Agency (DTA) Service Design and Delivery process.
- Experience supervising staff and leading a team.

**Eligibility and other requirements**

**Citizenship** - To be eligible for employment with the Department of Climate Change, Energy, the Environment and Water you must be an Australian citizen.

**Security Clearance** - This position requires a Baseline Vetting security clearance. You will be required to obtain and maintain a clearance at this level.
