About the Role

The Data Conversion Specialist will own multiple data conversion projects and lead the execution. The position fills the vital role of allowing LexisNexis to transition client data from legacy or competitive products into the Lexis Affinity database. You should have a high capacity for complexity; enjoy learning about diverse technologies and thrive when seeking to understand the rich details in a day in the life of your customer. You’ll be working with a team which is a supportive and collaborative group of individuals who are passionate about new technology whilst supporting the Rule of Law.

Key Responsibilities Include:

- Achieve a genuine deep understanding of the customer needs and challenges.
- Collaborate effectively with the Project Managers and Professional Services team to ensure client requirements are translated effectively in the data conversion process.
- Create data conversion code and other methodologies to extract, manipulate and convert data in line with the client's needs and system requirements.
- Provide data manipulation services such as partnership splits, restructures and mergers, and ad-hoc import of 3rd party data from other sources, as required by clients customers.
- Troubleshoot any issues or errors in the data conversion process or system.
- Assist with pre-sales data analysis and scoping studies for potential new clients.

To be successful in this role, you will have:

- Formal qualifications in computer science, information science, or related field.
- Minimum 4 years relevant experience in data conversion or software development.
- Legal Practice Management / Accounting / Financial software system experience is preferred.
- Excellent SQL, PL/SQL, Oracle, MS SQL Server and Excel skills.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Attention to detail and accuracy.
