An exciting ongoing opportunity for a Procurement Officer to join our Corporate Services Division has now become available.
This position will utilise your administration skills and attention to detail by undertaking a variety of tasks including the creation of purchase orders, supporting quotations and preparing regular reports to the Procurement Manager.
In this key role you will support business units across the VBA, improving working to implement a new contract management framework, develop organisational capability, strengthen reporting and assist relationship management with key vendors. The position is in the procurement team and engages with all divisions of the VBA.
This is an exciting time to join procurement at the VBA, we are developing procurement and all team members are vital to support the successful improvement of procurement and contract management at the VBA.
Who we are looking for
- Demonstrated commitment to supporting customers with a quality service.
- Understanding of the principles and requirements for public sector procurement.
- Experience of using finance systems in either a procurement or similar role.
- Intermediate skills with Microsoft products (including Excel, Word, Powerpoint and Access)
- Ability to build and maintain relationships with a range of stakeholders (both internal staff and suppliers).
- Experience requesting quotations from suppliers and managing contracts databases would be highly regarded.

- As a public sector standard, generally all new employees will start at the base entry level and increment throughout the salary range each year based on performance. Current public sector employees at the same grade will be considered for a transfer of entitlements with evidence. A request above entry level may be considered in certain circumstances.
