**About the Position**

The Resident Assistant position is a versatile role supporting the dedicated work of our Lifestyle and Personal Care team members in the care of our residents. Taking direction from the Clinical Care Coordinators, this role will support the provision of quality support to meet the social, physical, spiritual, cultural, and emotional needs of the residents. The Resident Assistants will undertake a range of general duties that will be shared across both the personal care and lifestyle teams, dependent on the resident’s needs.

**About you**
- Caring and empathetic approach to supporting residents.
- Understanding of the ageing process or willingness to learn.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills including the ability to interact with a wide range of people and cultures.
- Ability to establish and maintain professional and appropriate relationships with residents and their families.
- Consistently maintaining confidentiality of residents and staff.
- Commitment to respecting the values, customs, preferences and spiritual beliefs of residents and their families/representatives.
- Ability to comply with safe work practices and food safe handling practices.

**Key Performance Indicators**
- Support NoosaCare clinical and care team members in the provision of their support to residents.
- Take direction and advice from the senior staff within the scope of this position description and the role’s key performance indicators.
- Direct all health queries from residents’ families, friends, or guardians to the Registered Nurse on Duty.
- Where required complete documentation in accordance with legislation and NoosaCare policy and procedures.
- Participate in all required professional development and support the identification for service improvement.
- Maintain a safe work environment in accordance with NoosaCare’s Workplace Health and Safety Policies and Procedures.
- Support and assist in the provision of a clean, comfortable, safe and secure environment.
- Work within the scope of skills and avoid the duplication of support for residents.

**Job Type**: Casual

Pay: $32.26 per hour

Expected hours: 25 - 35 per week

Work Location: In person
