**The Role**
Reporting to the General Manager - ANZ, the National Sales Manager will incorporate business management and business development responsibilities. It is both a hands on and strategic role where you will proactively lead the Territory Managers while working closely on strategy with the GM. A client facing sales leadership role, you will play a key role in the Australian sales function while overseeing the introduction of new products to the market and also lead budgeting, key account management, forecasting and assist with supplier relationships.
You will connect with the sector by attending regional and national field days and conferences, whilst working with the GM on market development, key client accounts and stakeholders. You will also gather intel to sharpen business development strategies by actively visiting and spending time with key growers in all state markets.
**The Person**
Experience in the agriculture space ideally but not critically in seeds and be either an established National Sales Manager or someone on a career path to this level role.
To be successful in this role you will:
- have a proven sales leadership record of growing revenues and gross profit in agricultural/horticultural markets
- be an effective people leader to mentor and coach salespeople to maximise client relationships and therefore sales results
- ideally, have knowledge of the seeds market in Australia but you may also come from chemical, fertiliser, or broader agriculture background
- be able to keep abreast of market trends, key client strategy, and competitor activity
- be willing to travel as needed in Australia and overseas (conferences, suppliers, and client visits)
- have a history of selling a technical product that requires in-depth and long-term client engagement and management
- you will have strong communication and presentation skills and the ability to work with a wide range of cultural groups
