**The role**
- Reporting to the Manager of Compliance, we are seeking an Community Development and Compliance Officer who can bring their skills and experience to work with event organisers to encourage and support the development of safe, well run and compliant events and activites:
- Support councils Local Laws
- Meet safety standards for public events and other activities under relevant codes of practice and legislation
- Protect Council and Community property and
- Balance the interests of both permit applicants and the broader community.
**About you**
- To succeed in this role, you will have:
- A tertiary qualification in the Arts, Event Management or Community Development with the practical experience working in development of cummunity cultural development projects and events, and/or
- Substantial experience and demonstrated knowledge and skill in event management and the related regulatory environment
- Local government experience is desirable
- Current Driver's License.
- Brimbank City Council is a Child Safe organisation. Brimbank will implement all necessary measures to ensure a safe and supporting Council environment, which endeavours to promote child safe, child friendly practices.

**Selection Criteria**
- Essential : Relevant qualifications and practical experience with regard to the safe production and management of major events and activities in a variety of settings.
- Essential : A tertiary qualification in the Arts, Event Management or Community Development with practical experience working in the development of community cultural development projects and events or similar demonstrated experience.
- Essential : Substantial experience and demonstrated knowledge and skills in event management and the related regulatory environment or similar.
- Desirable : A demonstrated understanding of Local Government practices and processes.
