Department Overview Purchasing and Inventory Officer is responsible for the procurement, negotiation, and contracting of all manufacturing and other materials we need for the operation of our company.
**Job Description**:
Main tasks
Purchasing of normal manufacturing stock with the aid of SYSPRO and MRP.
Purchasing other materials required within the company.
Maintenance of the SYSPRO item masters to reflect accurate purchasing lead times, economical batch quantities and safety stock.
Other duties
Ensure all purchases are expensed to the correct cost centres.
Purchase to obtain the best possible buy price for the company and Investigate alternative sourcing opportunities as required.
Track, coordinate and follow up on delays or back orders, communicating between the supplier and internal departments.
Liaise with freight personnel to get the lowest inwards goods freight costs.
Maintain the suppliers cross reference field within SYSPRO
Report possible supply problems obsolescence from suppliers to the Production Manager and R&D team.
Prepare and participate in stock take and stock adjustments.
Provide regular purchasing report to indicate variances in current purchasing.
Regularly review inventory levels and develop actions and recommendations to optimise stock holdings.

Basic Requirements
Qualifications and Experience
At least 3 years purchasing experience in the Electronics Industry. Knowledge of any relevant MRP computer software package would be an advantage.
Skills & competencies
Customer service focused committed to providing exceptional customer service across all channels written, phone and face to face.
Communication the ability to communicate clearly and concisely, varying communication style depending upon the audience.
Attention to detail excellent attention to detail and written skills when communicating with others, both internally and externally.
Teamwork willingness to assist and support others as required and get on with team members.
Time managementorganisation accomplish objectives effectively within time frame given and carry out administrative duties within portfolio in an efficient and timely manner.
