**Regional Asset Manager
- ESW**

V/Line’s purpose is to connect Victorians through safe, reliable, and accessible transport. We believe in giving all Victorians opportunities through travel and transport - connecting them to jobs, education, family and friends, services, tourism and trade.

V/Line is experiencing significant growth and we’re delivering more services, more trains, cheaper fares, and huge projects. With more than 3700 weekly train and coach services, an expansive freight network and unprecedented rail investment, millions of Victorians depend on us to deliver. You could be one of our 3100 committed team members who are up to the challenge.

**About the role**

As the Regional Asset Manager of the East, South West regions, you will lead the charge in maintaining and improving the rail network across your designated region. This pivotal role combines strategic thinking, operational leadership, and stakeholder engagement to ensure the smooth and safe running of our network.

Reporting directly to the Director of Infrastructure, this leadership role will require you to balance day-to-day operational delivery with long-term planning, continuous improvement, and risk management. You’ll work closely with a range of stakeholders — from maintenance crews to local government and community groups — ensuring collaboration, efficiency, and customer-focused outcomes.

Your focus will include improving asset performance, optimising maintenance programs, managing major incidents, and driving a safety-first culture across your teams. This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced leader who thrives in a complex, fast-paced environment and is passionate about making a real difference to regional transport.

**Key Selection Criteria**:
This role is broad, complex, and high impact, with responsibilities that include:

- Lead, inspire, and manage a high-performing team across track, signals, and communications
- Develop and implement annual works programs aligned to V/Line’s Asset Management Strategy
- Optimise maintenance strategies, drive continuous improvement, and champion proactive maintenance
- Coordinate planned service disruptions and minimise impacts to customers
- Build strong relationships with local government, community groups, and key internal stakeholders
- Manage regional budgets, performance targets, and ensure compliance with safety and environmental standards
- Lead investigations of major incidents and drive rectifications
- Shape the future of regional rail infrastructure through strategic planning and innovation

**About You**
You’re a confident and experienced leader with a passion for delivering safe, reliable infrastructure and inspiring high-performing teams. With a mix of technical expertise and people leadership, you thrive in dynamic environments where you can drive operational excellence and continuous improvement.
- Tertiary qualifications (Engineering preferred) or equivalent relevant experience
- Strong leadership skills, ideally in rail asset or infrastructure environments
- Proven success managing multi-disciplinary teams in maintenance delivery
- Excellent stakeholder engagement, relationship management, and communication skills
- Experience working in unionised environments
- Financial acumen and a continuous improvement mindset
- Demonstrated alignment with V/Line’s values of responsiveness, integrity, impartiality, accountability, respect, leadership and human rights.
