Company Description

Mercure Penrith is a 222-room hotel located in the Panthers Prescient and we are looking for a hands-on Maintenance Manager to lead our small Maintenance team and ensure our hotel guests have a flawless experience.

**Job Description**:

- Oversee the maintenance of all areas of the hotel including guest rooms, public areas, and plant equipment and back of house.
- Ensure the preventative maintenance program is in place to ensure all equipment and facilities are well maintained and in good working order.
- Responsible for managing all aspects of contractors being on site and ensure the contractor inductions are kept up to date and in line with legislative requirements.
- Schedule and coordinate work to be carried out including repairs, inspections and preventative maintenance activities.
- Maintain accurate records of all maintenance work carried out including repairs, inspections and preventative maintenance activities.
- Conduct regular inspections of the hotels facilities and equipment to identify any potential issues and ensure they are addressed promptly.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant health and safety regulations and guidelines, and implement appropriate measures to ensure the safety of guests and staff. Be an active member of the hotel Workplace Health and Safety Committee.
- Management of the AFSS compliance and all aspects of building fire safety and management of fire safety.
- Work closely with other departments including housekeeping, front office and finance to ensure all maintenance needs are met and guest satisfaction score targets are consistently met.
- Assist housekeeping with splitting king beds, delivering rollaway beds and baby cots to guest rooms. Daily rubbish removal. Linen removal on high demand and quick turnaround days.
- Ensure that all costs are within hotel budget guidelines and use Purchase Plus to process all orders and invoices.
- Review online reviews regularly to identify areas for improvement in the hotel.
- Provide training and feedback to maintenance team members. Ensure team members are provided with regular feedback and complete 6-monthly and 12-monthly Performance reviews.

**Qualifications**:

- At least 2 year’s experience in hotel maintenance or similar with a proven track record of success.
- Strong technical knowledge of building systems including HVAC, plumbing, electrical and mechanical systems.
- Strong understanding of legislative compliance requirements.
- Excellent leadership and management skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire a team.
- Strong communicate and interpersonal skills with the ability to build relationships with team members of all levels, contractors and suppliers.
- Exceptional organisation and planning skills with the ability to prioritise tasks and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Strong problem solving skills and the ability to think outside the box for solutions and able to implement solutions in a timely and cost effective manner.
- Experience in all aspects of fire safety compliance and AFSS submission.
- Willing to work weekends and public holidays if required and to respond and go onsite in the event of an emergency.
- Able to lift, push and pull up to 15kg comfortably and stand/walk for extended periods of time.
- You must meet the legal requirements to live and work in Australia.
