Material Logistics Officer

RUC have sunk and equipped some of the world’s largest diameter shafts, in the harshest conditions on earth.

We currently require **Material and Logistics Officers **to join our Tanami - Shaft Sinking team on a 15:13 roster. - **FIFO from Darwin, Perth or Brisbane.**

**About the Role**
- Assist in the implementation and maintenance of the container register.
- Handling and monitoring of materials from vendors for defectives, shortage, missing parts.
- Coordinate with Logistics providers to ensure on-time delivery.
- Monitor and co-ordinate deliveries of items between mine site entrance and designated laydown yards ensuring materials and equipment are delivered to site/store.
- Maintain inventory levels of materials or products.
- Ensure that safe operating conditions, safe methods, and adequate safety management exist in the work group.
- Exercise a duty of care for the work group in the event of one of them not turning up on a rostered shift.
- Liaise effectively with stakeholders, vendor, transport, and other outside and internal agencies.
- Act in a supportive role to Management/Supervisors and stakeholders by offering reliable ad hoc information.
- Controls the functions and processes by ensuring that all materials are 'received', 'disbursed', 'accrued', 'binned', issued and dispatched, utilising whatever manual, mechanical or computerised equipment is required, according to stakeholder priorities and needs.
- Constantly updating parts numbers and descriptions according to business changes and needs by using the Pronto system.
- Uses computerised and manual stock checking techniques to ensure that physical stock matches the supply system records, and stock replenishment is optimised
- Investigate and correct errors.
- Monitors stock usage, to provide pro-active advice to Procurement or Inventory personnel on inappropriate levels, and to stakeholders on potential problem areas such as stockouts or low stock.
- Maintain a flexible relationship with the various Maintenance Departments by providing extra manpower (workload/time permitting) if required by them.
- Responsible for auditing own area safety inspections.

**About You**
- 3 to 5 years’ experience in a heavy, mining or trade Supply/Warehouse industries in a underground or surface environment.
- Hands on experience of computer stock systems.
- A high level of interpersonal skills with small group leadership ability and good decision-making skills.
- Forklift experience
- Have sound inventory experience with PRONTO, good organisational and interpersonal skills.
- Proactive and self-motivated.
- Ability to work in a team environment and unsupervised.
- High level of verbal, written and numerical skills.
- Ensure hazardous chemicals are stored and handled correctly.
- Provide escort to Heavy haulage drivers for major project areas on haul roads.
- Control the replenishment of consumable items used from the Tool store and co-ordinates with the Procurement staff, requisitions for the replacement or repair of tools.
- Ability to effectively communicate with stakeholders at all levels
- Valid C Class (Manual) Driver’s license
- Responsible for auditing own area safety inspections.
