We're partnering with an Australian-owned civil engineering and construction firm. As a tier one brand, quality of service, employee safety, and minimising environmental impact form the core values of the organisation.
You'll be joining a business where HR is truly valued, managers are competent, and where organic growth has been key driver in their success. With a well-established function, this role will continuously build on the broader framework, creating greater rigor around succession planning, leadership development, and retention and engagement.
This is a great opportunity to work with all levels of the business, both operationally and strategically. If you love working hands-on and are seeking greater variety in your next role, this may be the opportunity for you.
Within this role, some of your key responsibilities will include;
- Partnering with senior leaders and supporting the whole business across the employee life cycle including remuneration reviews, succession planning, cyclical activities, performance management, EBA interpretation, onboarding, training & development.
- Directly managing the HR Administrator, and providing support as needed.
- Leading HR projects, and initiatives, and focusing on continuous improvement and HR best practice. This includes rolling out engagement surveys.
- Liaising with recruitment agencies, and providing support to hiring managers as needed.
- Assisting managers to develop staff through the creation and execution of leadership programs, succession plans and the assessment of organisational goals and development needs.
- Managing ER cases as needed, focussing on building manager capability.
To be successful for this role, you will bring:
- Tertiary qualifications in HR or relevant discipline.
- Comfortable in being hands-on, working operationally but also having the ability to partner with leaders.
- An understanding of HR best practice and having an innovative and progressive approach to HR. Creativity and a desire to make a difference will set you up for success
- Prior experience within engineering or construction is desirable, or a previous role supporting a mix of blue and white collar employees.
This is a great opportunity to take ownership of the HR function, whilst having supportive leaders that want to drive HR best practice. If you want to make a difference and 'make your mark' on an organisation, we would love to hear from you.
