Portfolio Manager

On behalf of our client, we requires a self-motivated Portfolio Manager who will champion our Investible’s founders and further extend the reach and capabilities of our portfolio support offerings.

Reporting to the Portfolio Director, this is a position at the intersection of the key stakeholders in the Investible ecosystem. In this role, no two days are the same. You could find yourself attending a board meeting as an observer in the morning, advising another founder on their go-to-market strategy before lunch, onboarding a new portfolio company in the afternoon and finishing your day facilitating customer introductions.

You will be exposed to all facets of the early-stage venture capital landscape and interact on a daily basis with Investible portfolio companies and their founding teams.

The daily duties and responsibilities include:

- Portfolio support (e.g. onboarding portfolio companies, managing portfolio company communications and touch points, facilitating customer and investor introductions, providing strategic and operational advice, sharing of best practices, creating resources and guides where appropriate, building the network between founders and investors)
- In collaboration with the Portfolio Director, expand our portfolio operations by building scalable systems and processes to identify where the team can lean in and be supportive to founders, which includes services leveraging of our wider investor network, as well as building and vetting vendor relationships (PR, Finance, Legal, etc.)
- Write playbooks for portfolio operations by devising and executing experiments on how to best engage with founders at early-stage companies, collect feedback and drive continuous improvement
- Work cross-functionally with our investor relations team to provide updates from the portfolio and activate our investor network in support of our portfolio companies. Act as a “matchmaker” who understands the priorities and needs for both sides of the connection to create added value for both; proactively drive these connections
- Work cross-functionally with our marketing team to build awareness of Investible and its portfolio to drive deal flow and portfolio success, preparing case studies that highlight Investible’s portfolio companies
- Work cross-functionally with our operations team to support reporting obligations by providing timely information from portfolio companies
- Provide insights and analysis to the Investment Committee for follow on investments by tracking and analysing financial performance, projections, needs and upcoming milestones of portfolio companies

**Education** - Bachelor degree or higher qualification desirable. Industry experience may substitute.

**Experience & Skills**
- 7+ years of full-time work experience in a high-paced environment (growth start-up, consulting, ‘Big 4’ advisory, investment banking)
- Demonstrated success at building community, maintaining positive and productive relationships
- Strong ownership mindset and ability to lead projects independently - as well as comfort driving clarity from ambiguity and proactively building a function
- Strong cross-functional working relationships — you’ve proven an ability to build rich cross-functional relationships and to dive deep into different facets of a business. You’ve built the type of trust that makes it easy to deliver challenging feedback, and you’re not shy to do so.
- A passion for venture and tech — you track the early stage startup market and have an incredible network in the ecosystem. Strong track record exceeding expectations — you are goal-oriented and a high performer by nature, and you have a history of exceeding expectations and targets.
- Organised self-starter - you have excellent project management skills and are comfortable with learning self-service technical tools such as Zapier & Airtable
- Emotional intelligence - the journey of startup founders is challenging and you can demonstrate this by providing support with a compassionate and supportive nature
