Our Corporate Office is located at Thomas Embling Hospital in Fairfield, just 15 minutes north of the city. Due to our announced expansion across all Directorates, we have a need for experienced like-minded professionals to join our team to support our growing services. Our Directorates includes Thomas Embling Hospital, Prison Operations and our Community Directorate with highly skilled disciplines including Nursing, Lived Experience, Occupational Therapy, Psychiatry, Psychologists and Social Work. We have an outstanding L&D and discipline Educator co-hort that continually upskill our already skilled and supportive team.

**About the Role**:

- The Payroll Team Leader is responsible for the day to day leadership of the payroll team to provide an efficient payroll service to the organisation, including the timely and accurate processing of all salary payments;
- The incumbent is the initial line of contact for payroll team members on payroll and entitlement enquiries where leadership or management support is required.

**Duties**:

- Oversee the day to day administration of payroll functions, ensuring accuracy, efficiency and confidentiality are maintained within established guidelines whilst meeting all timelines;
- Manage and resolve employee pay queries and support team completing this task;
- Liaise with People and Culture and maintain up-to-date knowledge of current Enterprise Agreements and legislation affecting the payroll function;
- Engage with all levels of the organisation constructively and collaboratively to delivery high quality payroll services;
- Manage all reporting requests and legislative requirements of the payroll team;
- Lead the team to contribute to a culture of continuous improvement and customer service, including provision of effective self-service tools;
- Provide leadership, guidance, support and back up for payroll team in completing test system modifications;
- Manage the team in a positive manner to ensure all team members are performing at their best and meeting career aspirations.

**About You**:

- Relevant qualifications or a minimum of 5 years experience in a senior payroll position;
- Expertise in the use of Pay Global payroll system;
- Demonstrated experience and knowledge of personnel and payroll administration in a fully delegated environment, including the ability to maintain accurate records;
- Demonstrated experience in interpreting industrial Awards and Enterprise Agreements;
- Ability to work in a demanding and changing environment.
- Proven ability to deliver improvements to payroll practices and procedures;
- A professional, respectful and sensitive approach to managing staff by setting work priorities and deadlines, who may be working both in the office and remotely.
