An Air Operations Officer job in Melbourne with statutory authority.

A statutory authority responsible for protecting the environment. You’ll work in the Science Division based in Melbourne.

**Your new role**
Reporting to the Manager, you’ll:

- Support the delivery of high-quality air monitoring operations & services
- Provide scientific response services during an incident or emergency to aid with rapid scientific understanding of risks
- Coordinate the Incident Air Monitoring (IAM), Community Smoke Monitoring (CSM) and Incident Environmental Monitoring (IEM) capability to provide rapid response monitoring and investigation for air, water and contaminated land, enabling improved scientific advice during emergency incidents

**What you'll need to succeed**
You’ll have tertiary qualifications in environmental science/applied science/engineering, or equivalent, as well as:

- Skills in environmental monitoring including maintenance, repair and calibration of field equipment (preferably air monitoring)
- Ability to undertake technical troubleshooting & follow processes and procedures and work within a quality system
- Knowledge of techniques to monitor the environment and to use scientific equipment relevant for environmental chemistry and/or monitoring
