A brand new opportunity has arisen within the Import operations department and our client is looking for a self motivated, energetic and experienced Import Operator for the Freight Forwarding industry.

The role of an Import Operator is to handle the daily operations of both Air & Sea Freight shipments in a proficient and timely manner.

**Key responsibilities**:

- FCL, LCL and Airfreight
- Job registration
- Tracking of consignments and keeping customers updated
- Lodge Air & Sea Cargo Automation
- Liaise with Air lines, shipping lines and unpack depots
- Arranging payment of local arrival charges
- Issuing invoices, pre-alerts, arrival notice, outturn reports & delivery orders
- Preparation of documents for internal departments

**The successful applicant must display the following skill sets**:

- Proactive with a can do attitude
- Experienced using CargoWise EDI
- Have excellent communication skills both written and verbal
- Have a minimum of 1 year industry experience
- Ability to work independently, to prioritise workload and have great time management skills
- Extensive knowledge of freight forwarding operations
- Ability to think laterally and find quick and effective solutions to problems
- Professional presentation and the confidence to meet with your key account customers
- Knowledge of Customs and Quarantine procedures
