Position Summary The Product Owner is responsible for maximizing the value of the product resulting from the work of the Development Team. This would entail understanding the needs of the company and its customers, while also liaising with vendors, staff members and other squads to help maximise productivity and profitability for the Company. Organisational Context A2B is an Australian ASX listed Company with a leading position in personal transport. A2B’s dispatch technology is deployed globally and our expertise in payments is embraced by retailers and the taxi industry throughout Australia. A2B is home to brands including 13cabs, Cabcharge, EFT Solutions, and Mobile Technologies International. In support of Professional Drivers and their Passengers we provide class leading and cutting-edge technology to 96% of Australia’s 22,000 taxis as well as to taxis in 50 cities throughout North America, Europe, and New Zealand. Our 13cabs taxi network is the largest in Australia directly supporting 10,000 vehicles and 40,000 Drivers. Clearly identify and describe product vision in order to build a shared understanding of the problem and solution with the product development team
Shared understanding of the team’s purpose and goals and how these fit into the organisation’s strategy
Product strategy - Understanding how the product fits into or changes the business model and goals

- Using techniques to validate assumptions about our customers, such as experimentation and MVP development
Development of a game plan or strategy that will have a positive influence on the achievement of the company goals

Product decision making and influencing
Make decisions regarding the priority of product backlog items in order to deliver maximum value with the resources available. This involves using prioritization techniques, negotiation skills and relationships with key influencers and decision makers

Managing the product lifecycle stages
Develop an understanding of what will be required to successfully deliver value to our customers. This may include working with Marketing to develop a go-to
- market strategy or running with internal change management to ensure the company can effectively support the product.
Accountability for all aspects that may impact the success of the product
Problem discovery and validation
- Working with the UX team to understand customers and their journey better
- Putting in place testing and feedback mechanisms to discover new problems or opportunities
- Grooming user stories with the team and key stakeholders to validate the problems and develop viable solutions
Continuous improvements to the product and its ability to address customer needs
Product quality assurance
Developing acceptance criteria for user stories to determine whether a product backlog item was satisfactorily delivered.
