**The Role**
We are looking for a Funding Analyst to join the Recovery Funding Team in the Recovery and Litigation Branch and to assist in administering the FEG Recovery Program. The FEG Recovery Program provides funding for liquidators of companies and trustees in bankruptcy (where FEG advances have been made) to pursue recovery proceedings, including litigation and other activities, to increase assets available to creditors in the winding up or bankruptcy process. Reporting to the Funding Manager, the Funding Analyst will be responsible for managing the commercial aspects of a portfolio of funded litigation proceedings with the aim of maximising the likelihood of a return to the Commonwealth on its funding investment and minimising risk to the Commonwealth.

**Duties and Responsibilities**
Responsibilities of the Funding Analyst will include:

- Managing the commercial aspects (including commercial strategies) of a range of recovery actions intended to increase the return of FEG payments to the Commonwealth as a creditor of companies in liquidation
- Reviewing and updating eoss on active matters
- Analysing insolvency practitioner’s budgets and billing, and preparing remuneration reports of insolvency practitioners in advance of creditors’ meetings
- Supporting the Recovery Funding legal team with commercial and financial analysis on active funded matters
- Assisting the legal team with drafting and reviewing communications and briefs for the department’s executive
- Attending meetings, court hearings, public examinations and mediations
- Calculating total Commonwealth costs to be paid by insolvency practitioners to the Commonwealth
- Liaising constructively with departmental and external stakeholders in relation to the work of the branch
- Promoting the Recovery Funding stream to liquidators and the broader insolvency industry (including presenting to the insolvency industry on matters relevant to the work of the team)
- Operating within the framework of Commonwealth legal policies, including the model litigant policy, and procurement and governance requirements

**Qualifications and Education**
Essential qualifications:

- Bachelor of Commerce, Accounting or Finance
- ARITA Advanced Certification (Desirable / highly regarded, but not essential)
- CA or CPA (Desirable / highly regarded, but not essential)
