**The Company**
Our client is a market leader in their industry, delivering innovative fresh bakery products to the retail, food service, grocery, and convenience market. Due to planned business growth, we are seeking an experienced and passionate OH&S Manager to join the organisation and take full ownership of the safety journey for the business.
**The Role**
Reporting to the Managing Director, this role exemplifies the importance of safety and people in the business. The OH&S Manager is responsible for driving safety compliance throughout the business. They will provide initiatives, assistance, advice and coaching to managers and team members on the management of OH&S systems, programs, policies, and procedures to ensure compliance with OH&S legislations and industry best practice
Key Responsibilities include:
- Review, contribution, creation and execution of the OH&S strategy
- Encourage and reinforce a culture of safety by coaching and mentoring line managers and other key staff on their roles and responsibilities relating to safety - including induction
- Establish and implement procedures for safety and risk management and emergencies
- Develop and implement workplace strategies to reduce workplace injuries and conduct risk assessments
- Develop, implement and review OHS Programs, policies and procedures and risk assessments to ensure compliance with legislation and industry best practice
- Conduct OHS risk assessments in conjunction with the Safety Committee and take a leading role on the definition and installation of an online system
- Plan, organise and implement OHS initiatives across the business
**The Successful OH&S Manager**
The successful OH&S Manager will bring to the role:
- Appropriate qualifications
- At least 5 years management experience in a similar senior role, preferably in a food manufacturing business
- Strong attention to detail and accountability evidenced by exceptional documentation and reporting
- A commitment and experience to develop and implement continuous improvement initiatives
- Exceptional communication skills that take people positively on the safety journey
- A large bank of knowledge on OH&S regulations and compliance
- Leadership and meeting management skills
- Experience and best practice knowledge around injury prevention and Return to Work Processes
- Excellent analytical capabilities
