**Your opportunity**:
Governance, Strategy and Planning (GSP) undertakes a range of functions to support the department to meet its strategic objectives and operational requirements and delivers services and products to support frontline and corporate staff to effectively and confidently perform their duties. Its functions include strategy design, risk management, corporate governance, corporate planning and reporting, project and program management, policy and procedure, customer complaints management and human rights, and performance improvement. GSP is seeking a motivated, critical thinker with strong problem-solving skills. If you are passionate about working with stakeholders to achieve better outcomes, then this is the job for you. **Your role**:
The Principal Policy Officer will join a small team responsible for strategy development and oversight.
- Undertake research, scanning and analysis of issues to inform policy and program development
- Monitor and evaluate Equity and Excellence in collaboration with project leads across the department
- Lead visually engaging progress reporting to provide assurance to senior governance committees.

**What we're looking for in our next Principal Policy Officer**:

- Strong background in one or more of the following - policy analysis, strategy design, program reporting and evaluation
- Creative, innovative, strategic thinker, who can research and analyse issues, translate complex information into clear and user friendly products
- Exceptional writer and communicator who is great at stakeholder engagement and negotiation
- Excellent attention to detail and coordination skills
- A positive attitude and flexibility to adapt to shifting priorities
- Commitment to a culture that respects, protects and promotes human rights.
