- An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Heritage Project Officer to join Liverpool City Council’s award-winning City Design and Public Domain team. This role is ideal for a skilled Heritage Architect or Heritage Planner looking to gain experience working in one of the largest, most diverse, and fastest growing Local Government Area’s in metropolitan Sydney.
**About the Role**
- The Liverpool Local Government Area (LGA) is one of the largest in metropolitan Sydney, comprising 42 suburbs, and includes a diverse mix of established and new release areas. The LGA is undergoing rapid change and development, including the transformation of the Liverpool City Centre into Sydney’s third CBD, construction of the new Western Sydney International (Nancy-Bird Walton) Airport, development of the new Western Sydney Aerotropolis, and the delivery of significant planning and infrastructure projects.
- s City Design and Public Domain team, which comprises of specialists in Urban Design, Heritage, and Public Art, collectively working to achieve design excellence outcomes, across the Liverpool LGA.
- The purpose of this position is to work alongside the Senior Heritage Project Officer to deliver the Comprehensive Heritage Study project. The position will also assist with other heritage related projects and programs of work, that deliver on the aims of Council’s Community Strategic Plan and actions identified in Council’s Heritage Strategy.

**About You**
- Tertiary qualifications in History, Archaeology and/or Town Planning or an associated discipline;
- Experience in undertaking academic standard historical research using a variety of sources to formulate a thematic history or historical analysis;
- Experience in the assessment of heritage significance of an item, and the preparation of relevant assessment studies;
- Self-motivated, practical, outcome-focused, have good stakeholder management skills, and good written and verbal communication skills.
