The Project Officer will provide be an integral part of the Sustainability Unit providing support across the sustainability work streams. The workstreams include environmental data management, energy programs, and communications with public hospitals and health services. The role will be exposed to a wide range of sustainability issues and provide the practical building blocks to a career in sustainability.
The role plays a key part in maximising the public health system's contribution to the Government's commitment to be net zero carbon by 2050 through ensuring the energy efficiency of existing and new health infrastructure.

**Accountabilities**:
- Contribute to the collection and management of environmental data to meet departmental objectives including:
- (a) Create new user profiles and facilitate training sessions,
- (b) Maintaining data feeds and the asset hierarchy to ensure all public health facilities have relevant data,
- (c) Maintaining data to a standard appropriate for annual reporting and NABERS for Hospitals ratings,
- (d) Utilising data to target investment in energy efficiency and solar, and ensure capital projects are resource efficient, and
- (e) Improving data processes through working with data suppliers and developing innovative solutions.
- Where responsible for overseeing, monitoring, or delivering projects, ensure they are delivered in accordance with relevant legislation and government regulations and guidelines.
- Generate and promote sustainability wins through internal news articles
- Build and maintain positive relationships across the department and the wider sector to build a partnership approach, including preparation of communication materials and agendas, organise meetings, drafting meeting summaries and facilitating follow-up action.
- Undertake technical data analysis and modelling and prepare reports on the environmental performance of the public health portfolio.
- Keep accurate and complete records of your work activities in accordance with legislative requirements and the department's records, information security and privacy policies and requirements.
- Take reasonable care for your own health and safety and for that of others in the workplace by working in accordance with legislative requirements and the department's occupational health and safety (OHS) policies and procedures.
- Demonstrate how the actions and outcomes of this role and work unit impact clients and the department's ability to deliver, or facilitate the delivery of, effective support and services.
