**The Role**
The Strategic Policy and Projects Division (SPP) is responsible for supporting the build and delivery of numerous IT system projects that support Australian Skills, Training, Apprenticeships and employers.

The SPP Project Management Office (PMO), through effective and efficient project management functions supports the Division and relevant executives in managing IT based projects. The PMO does this by ensuring a consistent view of each project is maintained through governance arrangements, reporting, financial and contract management.

**Duties and Responsibilities**

We are seeking individuals with the following skills and capabilities:

- Demonstrated knowledge of and expertise in finance or procurement functions.
- Support month-end accruals processes, including processing of invoices and reporting (administered and departmental).
- Ability to conduct procurement in line with departmental policies, procedures, delegations and legislation, including development of related documents (procurement plan through to contracting/invoicing).
- Maintenance of related contract and compliance registers.
- Contribute to the coordination of briefings, correspondence and submissions relating to the corporate co-ordination activities, including the senate estimates process.
- Ability to use sap/hub and tm1 or similar fmis and reporting tools.
- Highly developed interpersonal, collaboration, communication and influencing skills to successfully develop and maintain relationships with a range of different stakeholders.
- Energetic, self-motivated and keen to take on new challenges, opportunities and learn new skills, with strategic and analytical thinking skills, and the ability to draw accurate conclusions based on evidence.
- Ability to effectively manage competing deadlines to achieve results and deliver high quality outcomes.

**Qualifications and Education**
Experience in accounting or finance area and a working knowledge of the Commonwealth financial framework is essential.
