**ABOUT THE BRANCH**

The Chief Financial Officer (CFO) Branch contributes towards Finance's outcomes by providing reliable and timely financial and procurement information to support decision making and drive improved organisational performance.

Within the CFO Branch, the Procurement and Contracting Team (PaCT) maintains central oversight of Finance's procurement and contracting activities, including:

- administration of Finance's internal procurement framework
- provision of procurement and contract management advice, consistent with value for money and best practice principles
- maintenance of operational guidance and procurement templates
- support for business areas to deliver complex procurement activities
- delivery of statutory and non-statutory reporting obligations
- promotion of integrity through robust quality assurance practices and periodic compliance reviews of procurement and contracting activities.

We are seeking a suitably experienced and knowledgeable Assistant Director to oversee the day-to-day management and delivery of procurement governance, reporting and business improvement in a central procurement area.

Duties will include:

- Leading the portfolio’s statutory and non-statutory procurement data analytics and reporting obligations, including Senate Order, Annual Report, Connected Policies, Protective Security, Annual Procurement Plan, Procurement Pipeline, Contracts Register, Compliance reporting and AusTender reporting.
- Preparing and submitting executive level briefs for Senate Estimates, Questions on Notice, FOI responses, and reporting to Executive Board and Audit & Risk Committee.
- Undertaking data analysis and quality assurance reviews in a timely manner to ensure accurate, compliant and timely analysis on procurement and contracting matters in accordance with relevant legislation and the Commonwealth Procurement Framework.
- Proactively identifying and driving continuous improvement and optimisation of internal financial reporting processes, including but not limited to contracting reporting, advice on improvements to reporting, and maintaining tools to support procurement best practice.
- Managing the development and implementation of procurement governance policies, procedures, guidelines and other resources that deliver effective procurement reporting outcomes.
- Providing leadership, empowering officials through collaboration, drive, innovation and promoting accountability to achieve operational goals.
