**Your tasks**:
- About the role Be a leading practitioner and take responsibility for:
- Ensuring that technical requirements are defined, developed, captured, and aligned to fulfill customer needs and project requirements.
- Ensuring that system architectures are developed in line with approved specifications, quality standards and within approved frameworks.
- Ensuring, in conjunction with the Engineering Manager or Engineering Lead that all engineering artefacts are developed, reviewed, and approved by the appropriately qualified personnel.
- Conducting technical review and approval of engineering design artefacts (including design documents, drawings, plans, user manuals and training materials).
- Ensuring that design artefacts and baselines are correctly captured in the approved engineering tools with the approved engineering processes.
- Raising Technical Governance issues with the Project and with the Chief Technical Authority.
- Ensuring, in conjunction with the Engineering Manager or Engineering Lead, that potential technical issues and risks are identified and advise on potential mitigation plans and strategies to ensure successful project completion.
- Transferring technical knowledge, expertise, and best practices to engineering team members. Additional Duties
- Participating in tender support activities.
- Providing technical leadership and expertise to peers and engineering team members for assigned relevant domain, product, or area of competence.
- Extensive and substantial practical knowledge and experience in system engineering preferably in a communications environment.
- Leading practitioner in requirements definition and system validation.
- Practitioner and practical experience in system architectures, integration & interfaces, and verification & validation of communication systems.
- Experience and product knowledge of radio communications and IP based voice switching systems and associated technologies.
- Highly structured approach to tasks and activities.
- Advanced communications skills and including the ability to negotiate required outcomes to meet project objectives.

**Your qualifications**:
- Skills and Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in a technical discipline preferably in Electrical/Electronics/Communications.
- 8 to 10 years or more experience in Systems Engineering, Communications Systems Engineering or similar role.
- Eligible to obtain Australian Citizenship.
- Eligible to obtain an Australian Security Clearance
- Eligible to access/handle export-controlled technology, data, and information.
