**Description**:
**The role**:
The purpose of the role is to assist Project Managers, Business Manager, and the People & Capability (P&C) team, with resource management, scheduling, project, and process set up, and project delivery. Sitting in the Project Management Office (PMO), the Workforce Scheduler works with the PMO and P&C to identify resources required at a project level. This role is responsible for scheduling Construction Ecologists and Fauna Spotter Catchers (FSC) for all projects. The Scheduler develops rosters as well as resourcing to ensure our FSC’s meet service delivery needs. When not scheduling, this role is responsible for supporting the PMO to ensure projects are planned and executed in line with project management processes.
**Responsibilities**:
- Support decision making on current and future business requirements by providing timely and accurate real time planning and forecasting for Fauna Spotter Catcher (FSC) resource management.
- Liaise with the Project Managers, to establish the resources needed to perform the work.
- Generating rosters and ensuring the schedules are well planned, communicated, and balanced, considering both our service delivery needs, as well as staff availability.
- Proactively plan, forecast, and manage the FSC scheduling requirements, including roster changes, leave and absence planning to ensure coverage of shifts.
- Communicate rosters and roster changes to relevant staff and managers through reporting.
- Monitoring and reporting of project progress, expenditure and forecast to complete.
- Support to the project risk and opportunity management including contingency management.
- Produce and update detailed work programs in collaboration with Project Officers and Project Managers and enter in Vantage Point, ensuring compliance with NGH processes, systems, and procedures.
- Play an active role in identifying and implementing workforce planning improvements, cost reduction and efficiency initiatives where possible.
- Continuously develop depth and breadth of skills and knowledge in scheduling, and resourcing by engaging in learning through formal development, coaching, mentoring, and seeking feedback.
**Skills and Experiences**:
**About you**:
- Previous experience as a Project Controller / Scheduler.
- Demonstrated experience in a workforce management or resource planning role.
- Demonstrated experience in workload forecasting, creation and maintenance of staffing rosters, and capacity planning within multi-job role operational channels.
- Strong experience in Project planning and Controls and Project Management.
- Excellent understanding of the Microsoft Office suite including advanced Excel.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
