About the Role:
- Develop and deliver on key system functionality priorities- Own and execute the ‘build strategy’ for the DER orchestration platform

The Virtual Power Plant team will develop and own the strategic plan of technology initiatives for the behind the meter orchestration growth program within Trading.

In your new role of Product Owner, you will partner with the Distributed Energy team to manage the delivery of the behind the meter orchestration growth initiatives, including VPP market and third party orchestration provider integrations.

What you’ll be doing:
Through collaboration with program sponsors, the product management team and business and technology stakeholders, you will develop and describe the key system functionality, and prepare and prioritise the initiative backlog for delivery in line with business objectives.

Owning and executing the ‘build strategy’ for the DER orchestration platform, you will also be responsible for:
- Being the technical interface between AGL and third-party orchestration software services providers, keeping all internal stakeholders appraised of their development progress regarding the on-time and on-budget delivery of Wholesale Markets product initiatives.- Autonomous problem solving and decision making around build priorities and capabilities.- Tracking, measuring and analysing the performance of MVPs and future releases.- Ensuring the backlog is clearly expressed such that the development team understands the items in the product backlog.- Co-ordinating with Product Owners and Product Managers to manage cross-team dependencies and allocation of resources and liaising with stakeholders to ensure expectation are met and new requirements are captured.

About You:
You will have a detailed understanding of the Australian and international energy markets along with the emerging challenges faced within these markets. Although not essential, having an understanding of Distributed Energy Resources and IoT technologies, and approaches for large organisations to manage and extract maximum value from these resources at scale, will contribute to your success.

With an ability to function at a broad strategic level, you will demonstrate outstanding written, and verbal communication skills along with the confidence to develop relationships, engage, influence and present across levels across the organisation.

What you’ll bring to the table:
- Tertiary and/or postgraduate qualification in an IT or business / engineering related field along with experience in a Product Owner, Business Analyst or related delivery role.- Working experience of Agile methodologies demonstrated by prior involvement in Agile projects and working within scrum teams.- Proven experience managing external contracted delivery partners within projects with evolving scope and delivery targets.- Experience developing and implementing internal change and communications strategies and materials for a diverse audience.- Ability to understand and engage with complex data and source systems when required.
