The Research Office (RO) at CSIRO promotes research excellence by investing in high-quality, high priority research and fostering the development and recognition of research talent. CSIRO are seeking two Grants Advisors to contribute to the delivery of the internal grants portfolio (ResearchPlus) and support engagement with external funding programs.
You have experience providing high level administrative support and proactively contributing to a dynamic, fast paced office environment. You’re organised and have a high attention to detail, which sees you efficiently manage conflicting deadlines and priorities. As the RO Grants Advisor, you’ll engage with a diverse cohort of internal/external stakeholders, so strong communication skills will be key to your success.

**Your duties will include**:
- Administering the full pre-award and post-award life cycle for selected R+ and external grant programs.
- Post-award activities include reviewing and recommending reports and variations for approval, providing post-award support to grantees, and ensuring any reporting requirements to external funders are met.
- Monitoring and reporting on Key Performance Indicators of selected programs and making recommendations for change to ensure the programs are efficiently administered and continue to facilitate research excellence.
- Throughout the grant’s life cycle, providing advice to grant applicants and grant holders, as well as other Business Unit stakeholders on grant terms and conditions, reporting and variation requirements, feedback and outcomes, as well as deliver information sessions such as webinars.
- Working collaboratively with others in the geographically dispersed team to ensure the annual R+ portfolio cycle runs smoothly and contribute to strategic reviews of the R+ portfolio.
- Contributing to portfolio-level activities including preparation of fortnightly RO Newsletter, developing and maintaining webpages administered by the RO, and inputting into R+ finances and budget allocations.
- Other duties as directed.
**Location**:Adelaide (Waite campus), Canberra (Black Mountain site) or Melbourne (Clayton site) preferred, but other major cities may be considered.
**Salary**:AU$87k - AU$98k plus up to 15.4% superannuation

**To be considered you will need**:
**Essential**:
- Under CSIRO policy only those who meet all essential criteria can be appointed._
- Relevant experience proactively contributing to a dynamic, fast paced office and providing high level administrative support.
- Significant experience in administering a funding and/or grants scheme, and/or demonstrated experience in research management and governance in a similar organisation.
- Strong communication skills across a diverse group of stakeholders both written and verbal and the ability to establish and maintain effective interpersonal relationships with internal and external stakeholders; ability to handle sensitive and confidential information.
- Strong organisational skills and attention to detail; demonstrated ability to manage competing demands, establish priorities, organise tasks to meet deadlines, and escalate issues; ability to deal with ambiguity and adapt to changing circumstances and new responsibilities.
- A history of professional and respectful behaviours and attitudes; the ability to work under mínimal supervision in a geographically dispersed team environment, proactively collaborating, consulting and sharing resources to accomplish team objectives
**Desirable**:
- Proven ability to investigate complex problems by utilising sound judgement to identify and consider potential implications of a range of available alternative solution
- Knowledge and experience using CSIRO systems including SAP, O2D, Content Manager, SiteCore, and Office 365 suite.
