VicGrid is a division in DEECA's Energy Group that co-ordinates the planning and development of Victoria's Renewable Energy Zones (REZs), including overseeing investments to strengthen the transmission grid and unlock the potential of REZs. VicGrid is facilitating major transmission network upgrades in Victoria and implementing transmission planning reforms through the Victorian Transmission Investment Framework, which includes the development and delivery of transmission infrastructure projects.
Reporting to the Director Project Delivery, the Communications Lead, Project Delivery will design and lead the implementation of a communications strategy to support VicGrid's best practice strategy and framework for community and stakeholder engagement for transmission infrastructure projects in the development and delivery phase (including transmission projects to coordinate offshore wind in Victoria). This will involve working with the Community and Stakeholder Lead and DEECA's Digital and Customer Communications Division to develop and implement tailored communications strategies and initiatives to support engagement for a broad range of stakeholders (including local communities and landholders). This will also include liaising with proponents during project delivery to implement the strategies as required throughout the project lifecycle.
To be successful in this role, you will be an experienced communications leader with the ability to develop and execute communication strategies and promotional materials for complex major projects, with experience across major infrastructure and/or linear transport. Additionally, you will have experience managing and influencing complex stakeholder groups from government, project partners, Traditional Owner groups, and the community. You will have tertiary qualifications in communications, media or public relations. Experience in energy or renewables will be highly regarded.
