**Who we’re looking for**:
The purpose of this role is to set and manage residual value (RV) and maintenance risk for medium and heavy commercial vehicles with a GVM above 3.5t, and motorised plant & equipment according to the approved Asset Risk Appetite & RV policy framework.
A successful incumbent will be an asset category SME, highly analytical (using data from many sources),, be able to identify future influences on used values, as well as possess a commercial understanding of the role they play in clearly understanding group appetite for particular asset risk, guiding business development and financial outcomes.
The incumbent will not only set RVs & Maintenance budgets at quote stage, but actively review contracts in life, and contribute to the management of those risks throughout the life of the contract to deliver better end of term outcomes.
**What you’ll be doing**:

Deliverables/Outcomes
- Compliance with Risk policy framework & Guidelines.
- Risk positions supported by sound analysis of available data, and factors influencing future used asset values
- Timely and quality support of stakeholders.
- Adherence to ECX policies.
- Development of direct reports and education of key stakeholders.
This will be achieved through:
- Comprehensive understanding of Risk Appetite, funding constraints & RV policies, & compliance requirements
- Deploying analytics, understanding all influences to the data, as well as factors that may influence future asset values to set residual values and maintenance budgets, conduct portfolio valuations, and support the P&L owners.
- Conduct residual value and maintenance budget reviews to agreed cycle.
- Conduct regular valuation of the fleet portfolio and monitor its risk profile; and advise business on risk mitigation strategies.
- Collaborate with Business Intelligence and Risk Analytics functions to improve data analytics and systems to enhance automation and efficiency.
- Constant collaboration with internal stakeholders to fine tune risk management practice as a business enabler.
- Be across all enterprise systems capabilities relevant to areas of responsibilities
- Discharge responsibilities as a people leader specifically to coach and develop staff, engender a high performance culture and improve engagement.
**Requirements**:
Qualifications, Knowledge and Experience
- Tertiary qualification or equivalent in disciplines applicable to fleet, commercial analytics, and / or risk management.
- Exposure to Asset risk positions for Commercial Vehicles (medium/Heavy), related plant and equipment.
- Broad base experience across key functional areas in a fleet organisation including management of quantitative and risk functions.
- Engagement with external stakeholders in public forums advancing the cause of the employer.
Skills and capabilities
- Well-developed analytical skills demonstrating a habit of getting behind the data.
- Advanced excel or similar skills.
- Ability to deploy risk management techniques to enable the achievement of business objectives.
- Effective management of stakeholders who may have competing interests or priorities.
- Ability to exploit the IP and experience across the Group to improve the effectiveness of the role.
- Excellent people and communication skills in fulfilling leadership responsibilities and in managing the unavoidable tension that exists between risk and revenue functions.
- Able to adopt a strategic and commercially balanced view of managing risk
- Proactive, high level of initiative, solution driven, can-do attitude, and focus on quality and standards.
