**The Opportunity**
The Principal Network Planner plays a key role in shaping South Australia’s transport network by delivering high-level advice and innovative solutions. This role focuses on enhancing connectivity, improving public transport, and aligning with the Department’s strategic goals to support growth and liveability. You will collaborate with stakeholders to analyse network performance, develop evidence-based recommendations, and contribute to policies and programs that guide transport investments. Engaging with communities and professionals, you will address sensitive issues, integrate land use and transport planning, and drive improvements for a sustainable and efficient system.

**About You**
You are a highly motivated professional with a strong commitment to delivering innovative and customer-focused transport solutions. With your strategic mindset and technical expertise, you excel in advancing critical projects and fostering collaboration.

Your key strengths include:

- Demonstrated experience in formulating and delivering solutions that align with organisational goals and respond to emerging transport and land-use trends.
- High-level interpersonal skills to manage sensitive, complex matters and foster productive relationships across multi-disciplinary groups.
- Proven ability to interpret complex data, perform detailed analysis, and develop evidence-based recommendations.
- Well-developed written and verbal communication capabilities, including delivering clear, concise presentations and reports to senior stakeholders.
- Strong experience in managing planning studies and transport initiatives under broad direction, ensuring timely and effective outcomes.

**Qualifications/Experience**
For appointment to the role at the PO4 classification level, a degree in Engineering providing eligibility for membership as a Professional Engineer of the Institution of Engineers, Australia is required, or a Tertiary qualification in Planning.

For appointment to the role at the ASO7 classification level, relevant tertiary qualifications (Degree or Higher) in Engineering, Planning, Commerce, Business or Policy is highly desirable.

**Special Conditions**

Some out of hours and weekend work, along with some intra/interstate travel requiring overnight stays, may be required.

**Remuneration**
PO4 - $110,696 to $120,470 pa + superannuation.
ASO7 - $108,109 to $116,864 pa + superannuation.
