TEQ is committed to working collaboratively with key stakeholders to grow tourism and events across Queensland.
About the roleThe Leader provides effective and timely liaison between TEQ, Department of Tourism Innovation, and Sport (Department) and the Minister's Office. The role consults and advises internal and external stakeholders to prepare accurate and timely advice and high quality written responses on behalf of TEQ on a range of issues relating to the tourism and events portfolio. The role also provides support and advice to the Board and Government Relations Specialist in the delivery of their responsibilities.
Key duties
- Coordinate, research and prepare high quality written responses on behalf of TEQ, including correspondence and briefing notes, on a wide range of issues.
- Provide advice and solutions to TEQ Groups based on its functions as a statutory body of the Queensland Government.
- Liaise with colleagues across TEQ, in the Department and Minister's Office regarding tourism and events input into responses.
- Provide advice to Minister's Office and departments on tourism and events issues and TEQ related issues.
- Build strong working relationships across TEQ, the Department and Minister's Office with the ability to advise and influence.
- Represent TEQ on departmental committees as required.

- Ability to analyse issues and develop and implement solutions to address these issues in a timely manner.
- Ability to liaise with stakeholders at all levels, including senior management, government, and industry.
- Ability to work to a high standard under pressure with competing priorities.
- High level interpersonal skills suitable for a small team environment.
- High level knowledge of government structure and stakeholders.
