**Lead the change, from the frontline**

Based in
**Melbourne**, the
**Product Manager - Portfolio** is a key member of the Commercial Team, working closely with the Head of Product and teammates across the business. The role is responsible for ensuring our product portfolio is optimised and enables the business to meet our commercial and strategic objectives. The Product Manager will analyse and improve the commercial outcomes of the business, through an in-depth understanding of our existing products, the review and analysis of commercial, customer and product data, and facilitate the delivery of new and improved products.

This role requires a motivated, hands-on, commercially-focused, retail energy product manager with particular focus on the ability to optimise and develop product portfolios. They should understand and be able to drive commercial decision making, while understanding the customer journey & experience, compliance and legal obligations and the business operations and processes underpinning successful product delivery.

With respect, integrity and honesty, you will:

- Manage and deliver on the Strategic Product Portfolio, involving the optimisation and review of the portfolio to ensure it meets customer needs, is innovative and scalable, seeks and leverages market opportunities, maximises margin and delivers decarbonisation levers, in particular:

- Product mix continues to evolve in line with the needs of our existing and new customers and aligned with our business strategy.
- Collaborate across the business to enhance and rationalise our product mix as well as bringing new insight-led opportunities to the table.
- Manage the Product Roadmap to ensure consistent delivery of products and experiences that deliver business outcomes, and meet scenario and gross margin planning, insights, data and inputs from the Pricing Strategy, Customer and Finance teams.
- Ensure all initiatives include the identification, development, delivery and launch of customer propositions and the management of existing propositions to drive customer growth and retention, considering:

- Customer, market and business insights
- Operational and system capabilities
- Financial and commercial impacts, including driving product profitability and customer lifetime value as key inputs into strategy and plans
- Regulatory and legal requirements
- Ensure all product metrics, reporting and insights are robust and produce actionable, useful strategic insights. Monitor the performance of products in the market (whether Proof of Concepts, MVPs or live) and develop improvement plans as necessary.
- Develop excellent working relationships and work closely with the Sales, Digital Product and Marketing teams to ensure that propositions align with our customer value proposition, sales strategy and operational capabilities.
- Undertake critical analysis of industries, competitors, and market segments to identify profitable product opportunities and positioning.

- Energy industry experience in a similar role is essential;
- Experience in developing, launching and owning mass consumer products;
- Independent and motivated, and able to take ownership over the delivery of a piece of work;
- Ability to communicate and coordinate with a range of stakeholders;
- Desire to understand and be involved in complex environments;
- Enjoy making a difference and improving processes within the business;
- Presentation: ability to present to stakeholders in a clearly, concisely and confidently, both verbally and written; and
- Comfortable working with uncertainty towards loosely defined outcomes.
- Commercial modelling skills: intermediate modelling and Excel;
- Experience with customer testing;
- Ability to develop comprehensive business cases and effective presentation of complex ideas; and
- Well-developed project management skills.
