**Key Responsibilities**:
**Production Operations**:
- Effectively manage all aspects of the facility, ensuring efficient production and adherence to SOPs.
- Ensure employees are properly resourced and complete assigned tasks effectively.
- Set up and maintain machinery readiness.
- Report cultural breaches to the Production and Managing Directors.
- Effectively communicate weekly rosters and allocate tasks aligned with production schedules and employee needs.
- Allocate employees to support business requirements while considering personal commitments.
- Ensure rosters are completed weekly for the following week.
- Allocate time for SQF and required training, coordinating with the Compliance Manager.
- Identify the need for new machinery/tools and report to the Production Director.
**Leadership**:
- Ensure training on Allergens and CARES values for all employees.
- Communicate clearly and respectfully with employees and colleagues.
- Foster a positive and collaborative work environment.
- Ensure employees complete tasks efficiently.
- Identify and manage underperforming team members.
- Train current and new employees within the production team.
- Ensure adherence to company procedures and food safety responsibilities.
- Lead by example and promote positive workplace culture.
- Support employee professional development.
- Conduct performance reviews for direct reports (minimum annually).
- Lead "Morning & Afternoon Huddle" meetings for each department.
- Complete handover checklists with Afternoon Shift Supervisor.
- Ensure clear expectations and tools are provided for staff operating in your absence.
- Train and supervise shadow operators and new team members.
- Identify recruitment needs to support operational requirements.
- Report daily operation and HR concerns to the Production Director.
- Respond to meeting invites promptly and notify attendees of changes.
**Quality**:
- Maintain familiarity with company quality policies, procedures, and hygiene standards.
- Ensure quality standards are understood and met by all employees.
- Maintain production and traceability records.
- Advise the Production Director on evolving production systems.
- Achieve >90% on monthly audits.
- Communicate potential food fraud and product sabotage risks.
- Record and report scraps to the Production Director.
- Ensure proper labelling, sealing, and accounting of shop stock.
**Safety**:
- Report incidents impacting food safety (pests, foreign objects, CCP failures, allergen contamination) to Production Director and Compliance Manager.
- Document and address OH&S incidents.
- Ensure safe and hygienic operation of equipment and machinery by the team.
- Follow SQF standards for bakery equipment usage.
- Conduct regular safety checks with the Compliance Manager.
- Ensure adherence to uniform safety standards by the entire bakery team.
- Communicate production schedules and shortfalls to minimise allergen contamination risks.
- Record machinery downtime and report it to the Production Director.
- Assist in identifying food safety program shortfalls and notify the Compliance Manager.
- Maintain secure premises and personalised security codes.
**General Housekeeping**:
- Ensure a clean and organised bakery environment for efficient workflow.
**Education, Qualifications, Licenses**:
- First Aid Certification
- 3-5 years' experience in Production Management or similar
**Skills**:
- Strong communication, leadership, and organisational skills.
- Punctuality, professionalism, and the ability to lead by example.
- Strong interpersonal and customer service skills.
- Problem-solving skills and the ability to work autonomously.
- Accountability and follow-through with tasks.
- Openness to give feedback.
