Join the Faculty of Arts as the Facility Manager for the new Media Production Studio and take the lead in shaping an exciting, state-of-the-art creative space.

Based at the Parkville campus, the Facility Manager will provide overall management of the Studio facility including supervision of staff and providing hands-on technical support for academics or others using the facility for teaching or research.

This is a unique opportunity to establish and oversee a cutting-edge facility that will support teaching, research, and engagement activities in media production.

**Your responsibilities will include**:

- Lead and manage a small team, including an equipment loans specialist and an audio production specialist to oversee the operations of the Media Production Studio
- Establish and maintain service level agreements, standard operating protocols, and local procedures for the effective and safe operation of the facility in accordance with organisation and industry standards
- Oversee the acquisition, maintenance, disposal, and general management of audio-visual production equipment in the facility
- Manage the availability and optimal utilisation of the facility for teaching, research and engagement activities, including through participation in annual planning and curriculum development processes
- Provide hands-on technical support and training to staff and students as a video and television production specialist
- Develop and manage the facility’s annual budget

**You may be a great fit if**:
We are looking for an experienced film production professional with a strong technical background in video and post-production, ideally with experience in a tertiary education or training environment.

You have a proven track record of managing technical staff, providing hands-on training and troubleshooting issues in real time, enabling you to effectively support film production activities in a dynamic educational setting.

**You also have**:

- A qualification in a relevant discipline and experience and broad knowledge of the film industry from a production basis, including OHS compliance, risk assessments, insurance requirements
- Technical expertise in video and/or TV production and post-production
- Experience managing a team of technical professionals
- Demonstrated ability to provide instruction and training to diverse audiences
- Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot under pressure, to work proactively and with limited direction
- Demonstrated financial acumen and capacity to develop and manage budgets
- Demonstrated experience in developing and implementing operational plans

**The Media Production Studio**
Located in the heart of the Arts Precinct on Parkville Campus, the soon to be complete Media Production Studio comprises a suite of contemporary and flexible audio, television and multimedia studios, along with control rooms, editing capability and equipment to enable the development of media skills. The facility also includes a loans desk for media equipment hire and will assume operational responsibility for the existing Horwood Recording Studio.

While the Faculty of Arts will be the primary users of the space, all faculties will be encouraged to collaborate and access the facility.
