About the role
Reporting to our Media and Communications Manager, this full- time role will build, execute and monitor our social media and digital content offering from community netball through to our elite sporting team, the Melbourne Vixens.
From grassroots programs to elite match-day coverage, you'll create engaging content, grow our audiences, and collaborate with partners, broadcasters, coaches, athletes, and the wider netball community. Success in this role will come from your creativity, organisational skills, and ability to deliver high-quality content while calmly managing competing priorities and tight deadlines.
Due to the nature of this role some afterhours and weekend work, including travel, will be required.
You will be responsible for:
- Creating, scheduling and monitoring content across all social media platforms for Netball Victoria and the Melbourne Vixens.
- Collaborating with internal teams and external partners to promote Netball Victoria programs, events, competitions and other initiatives.
- Delivering innovative content strategy and initiatives, including match-day social media activity and written content, that captures and grows fan engagement.
- Developing industry leading content and campaigns with commercial, media and broadcast partners.
- Fostering inclusive and positive online communities through active moderation of platforms.
- Understanding and leveraging industry trends, our athletes and influencers to expand reach and audience growth
- Tracking, analysing, and reporting on content performance and key metrics.
- Maintaining our content library and editorial calendar.
- Supporting other duties as required by the role and Netball Victoria
What you will bring:
- Experience in social media management and content creation, across TikTok, Instagram and YouTube, Facebook and X (Twitter)
- Solid knowledge and skills across digital production - photo, video, audio and editing.
- Tertiary qualification and/or professional experience in Communications, Journalism, Media or related fields.
- In depth understanding of social media best practice and a strong awareness of, and engagement with, industry trends
- Proven ability to write engaging copy and feature stories for digital platforms.
- Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite and editing tools (e.g. CapCut).
- Experience analysing and presenting digital analytics to drive strategy.
- Commercial awareness with the ability to deliver partner-aligned content.
- A passion for sport and its power from grassroots through to the elite.
- Valid Working with Children Check (or willingness to obtain)
- Previous experience in a sporting or events environment will be highly regarded
