**Overview**:
We would love for you to join our friendly and hardworking grounds team here at Firbank Grammar. The Gardener plays a highly essential role in ensuring that the grounds are maintained in a healthy way that reflects the ethos and strategic intent of our organisation. We are seeking a hands-on, team player with a can-do attitude who is looking for the next challenge in their career.

As the Gardener you will work alongside the Buildings and Facilities Manager, Grounds Curator and Project Manager while also possessing the ability to work autonomously, re-skill and learn independently. Someone who is reliable with a knowledge of horticulture will will fit in seamlessly with our highly motivated team.

**Operation and daily tasks may include**:

- Maintaining gardens, lawns, ovals
- Mowing, watering, weeding, fertilising, planting, and pruning
- Clear external drains, sweep/blow/vac paved areas
- Maintenance of schools landscape using machinery as directed
- Preparing ovals for sport eg. mark lines
- Ensuring litter has been removed from garden areas
- Attending to maintenance duties as directed
- Maintaining and operating a variety of irrigation systems

**Key Competencies**:

- Knowledge of gardening techniques, plant and flower care
- Strong manual skills
- Precision and attention to detail
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Flexibility and physical fitness
- Positive attitude

**Qualifications and Experience**:

- Horticultural certificate
- Experience in gardening, landscaping, horticulture or agriculture sector
- Experience using garden and lawn maintenance equipment
- Working With Children's Check
- 3 doses of COVID-19 Vaccine
- Drivers License
