Victorian Managed Insurance Authority (VMIA) is the Victorian Government's insurer and risk adviser, covering the people and projects that help Victorians thrive.
We're an agency in the Department of Treasury and Finance portfolio, established under the Victorian Managed Insurance Authority Act, and report to the Assistant Treasurer.
We provide insurance and risk advice to government departments and agencies, with more than 4,600 clients, ranging from small community service organisations to public hospitals, schools, and core service providers. We also provide domestic building insurance to builders, giving Victorian homeowners peace of mind for building projects valued over $16,000.
We help our clients prepare for, prevent, or reduce the impact of harm. When things don't go to plan, we help clients restore services and recover quickly.

Your role
As an integral part of the People & Culture team you'll partner with our people leaders to proactively scout, attract, acquire and on-board the best talent who are equipped to provide world leading risk, harm prevention and recovery services that directly contribute towards a more confident and resilient Victoria.This role reports into the Talent Acquisition Lead in the Business Operations division.What you do
- You'll partner with our people leaders to design and coordinate talent acquisition activities to support quality hiring decisions across VMIA. You're driven to keep up to date with the latest market trends and practices in talent acquisition to design fresh, engaging campaigns that appeal to a diverse mix of capability and talent.
- Utilise your networks to develop strong partnerships with external recruitment agencies to ensure that our partners understand our business and introduce the right talent when required.
- Deliver operational reporting on recruitment metrics and data, providing contemporary market insights to enhance the richness of the data.
- Support the implementation of initiatives from the talent acquisition strategy and our system, Thrive (Oracle).
- Review the effectiveness of our recruitment tools and channels, making adjustments that ensure we are attracting and acquiring the best talent.
- Contribute to the development, review, and maintenance of recruitment policies and procedures.
- Ensure compliance with relevant policies and procedures including public sector requirements are met throughout the recruitment process.
- Contribute to the development, review and maintenance of recruitment and talent education collateral.
- Ensure diversity and inclusion is embedded in our recruitment processes and approach, along with contributing to the broader program of diversity and inclusion initiatives organisation wide.
- Ensure timely, accurate processing of all incoming recruitment related invoices from suppliers and agencies.

Who you work with
- You work collegially with the Business Leaders, People & Culture team, and your peers across the organisation to design and deliver effective acquisition activities, programs, education, and initiatives.
- You have strong partnerships with our external service providers and agencies to ensure best fit selection tools are used and develop relationships with our peer networks to create and maximise opportunities for talent sourcing and brokering.

About you
- You have 3 years' experience in recruitment and talent acquisition, working within human resources teams and/or in an internal recruitment function or agency, with proven ability to identify and successfully recruit best fit talent.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal and relationship-building skills.
- Ability to prioritise tasks, manage multiple jobs / projects simultaneously, and work in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong attentional to detail.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of the team.
- You bring a curious, continuous improvement mindset in your approach to work and life.
- You lean on your expertise to leverage multiple channels, such as LinkedIn Recruiter, talent pooling and your own networks using proactive and diverse approaches to source and attract potential talent.
