The Supreme Court of Victoria is seeking a motivated, team focused individual to join its Civil Arm of the Supreme Court Registry. The Supreme Court Registry provides administrative services to the judiciary, legal profession, court users and the public. Registry Officers are responsible for undertaking a variety of administrative support functions within the Registry.
**About Us**
The Supreme Court of Victoria is the highest court in Victoria and comprises the Court of Appeal and the Trial Division. The Court deals with major criminal and civil matters, plus appeals against decisions of lower courts.
The Civil arm supports the Common Law Division, Commercial Court, Costs Court, and incorporate the Office of the Prothonotary.

**About the Role**
The role of a Registry Officer is challenging and varied. Working as part of a large team within the Civil arm of the Supreme Court Registry, the successful applicant will perform a wide range of administrative tasks, including:
- Checking legal documents for compliance with Rules
- Taking receipt of checked documents and completing financial transactions (via counter service or electronic filing facilities)
- Providing technical guidance and support to Registry users regarding policy, practice and procedure
- Maintaining the Court's electronic case management system, filing of documents/correspondence, file maintenance and preparation
- Assisting with processing and receipt of Court held subpoenaed materials
- Preparing and authenticating Court orders
- Maintaining and monitoring lists of cases and liaising with the chambers of judicial officers to ensure the smooth operation of the Court
- Establishing and maintaining trusting working relationships with Registry Lawyers and Associates
- Undertaking other necessary administrative functions in order to support the operations of the Court in an increasingly digitalised environment
