Court Services Victoria provides corporate services and facilities to support the performance of the judicial, quasi-judicial and administrative functions of Victoria's courts and tribunal, Judicial College and Judicial Commission.

SCV
The Supreme Court of Victoria is the highest court in Victoria and comprises the Court of Appeal and the Trial Division. The Court deals with major criminal and civil matters, plus appeals against decisions of lower courts.

About the Role
This position sits within the Appeals & Crime arm of the Supreme Court Registry, which includes the Court of Appeal and Criminal (Trial) teams.
The Senior Registry Officer is responsible for undertaking a variety of specialist functions within Registry team and coordinate a wide range of administrative tasks in relation to case management, court file maintenance, providing support to chambers, monitoring and responding to incoming correspondence, and communicating with a range of internal and external stakeholders.
Duties and reponsibilities will include:
- Performing a range of legal, administrative and quasi-judicial functions under supervision which contribute to the day-to-day operations of Registry.
- Coordinating case management tasks including the filing, listing and processing of proceedings before the Court, the authentication and processing of orders and entering outcomes ensuring that the Court's electronic case management systems are maintained and update-to-date at all times.
- Communicating effectively on behalf of the Registry with members of the judiciary, other court registries, chambers and other legal staff, media, members of the public and the profession.
- Providing information and authoritative advice on court procedures, practices and protocols to all court users.
- Assessing written correspondence from internal and external stakeholders and either reply, process or forward this correspondence where appropriate.
About You
To be successful in this role, you will have excellent interpersonal and communication skills to be able to confidently and accurately convey information over the telephone, in writing (email) and in person (counter) to stakeholders such as self-represented litigants, members of the legal profession, the public and chambers. You will also be a team player, someone who can work cohesively and collaboratively within a team.
Experience in a court, tribunal or other legal environment is highly desirable.
